How will the municipality achieve this, and which projects will ensure this? What is Groningen’s role in hydrogen developments? And importantly: what role does the mayor play in this?

Groningen

Groningen has traditionally been an ‘energetic province’, with a lot of activity and knowledge in the energy sector. working together in the ‘New Energy Coalition’. That gives us an edge. The ambition is to do that to further expand our lead. Groningen gives energy. For centuries it has. First peat, then natural gas and soon sustainably generated electricity, hydrogen and high-quality knowledge and technology for the whole The Netherlands.
